This is the first day, so experimenting with this new idea of promoting my unusual contemporary art using recycled papers and stitch.

also keeping upto date with new workshops and events.
So I'm giving it all a try!

Jill's studio workshop information

‘The Flower Brooch’

An Experimental textile Workshop at the ‘Barn’ Studio

I have a ‘Barn’ studio at home near Dorking in Surrey and I will be offering workshops for small groups during 2012.

The project will be to complete a ‘flower brooch’ in a day!

It is a new and contemporary way of using old magazines and producing a piece of wearable art!- see my student’s work opposite

They all develop different shapes, colours and patterns. Some bold and solid, others delicate and dainty. Embellished and decorated with sequins, baubles and beads. They are completely personal and unique.

A sewing machine is required and basic knowledge of the machine.

A small requirements list will be issued.

Workshops for a minimum of 4 students to a maximum eight students will be held between 10am and 4pm.

Provisional dates:

• Saturday 31st March 2012

• Saturday 12th May 2012

• More dates to be confirmed

The cost is £40 per student per day , which includes a starter pack with products and brooch backings to complete the project.

If required there will be a light lunch for £5 but tea and coffee provided free.

Personal Cloth

Private group workshops available on request, minimum four students.
